Mikkel August Wallind, current President of CBS Students, will join the Board of Directors, while Duarte Prata de Vasconcelos Carrasco, Thi Kim Thanh Nguyen and Mohit Khatwani Nihalani took the three seats on the Academic Council.

CBS Students’ only contenders for the top seats, the Conservative and Liberal Students (CBS CLS), could not match the historic student organisation. CLS’ main candidate and president, Casper Øhlers, received 163 votes, never getting close to CBS Students’ top two candidates – Mikkel August Wallind, who won with 551 votes, and runner-up Frederik Winther Damsgaard with 406 votes.

Casper Øhlers was still content with the result, saying he felt “proud, humbled and incredibly motivated” that CLS candidates received 21% of the votes for the Board of Directors, nine percentage points higher than last year.

Overall, CBS Students dominated the elections throughout, gaining a majority of seats also on the Study Boards. However, CLS managed to secure three seats on Study Boards, triple its total last year. They now hold two seats on the Study Board for the MSc in Advanced Economics and Finance (through an uncontested election) and one on the Study Board for the MSc and BSc in International Business and Politics.

The final results will be determined by the Election Board on 8 December. Draws for tied seats will be held on the same day.

Layoffs break the crucial trust between organisation and employee

CBS is laying off a number of employees soon, which will affect our university in different ways. When employees are fired without having done anything wrong, it shatters the trust between the organisation and employees, while also taking a toll on productivity, according to a CBS expert. Layoffs also affect the ‘survivors’, who are forced to adapt to a changed workload and the loss of cherished colleagues.
